15 Weeks

15 weeks!  How did that happen?

I am now 100%, officially in the second trimester.  Different websites have conflicting opinions on when the second trimester officially starts.  With my huge brain and amazing math skills, I calculated that 40 weeks divided by 3 is 13.3333 weeks per trimester.  Hm.

At any rate, things are progressing along really well.  We have the anatomy ultrasound scheduled for April 1st, and we have decided that we will find out the sex of the baby.  Steve feels like we can prepare a little better, and I’m hoping that knowing will help me connect a little bit better to our baby and get a bit more excited about what’s to come.  I’m not sure if this is normal, but I really feel like I’ve been cruising through this pregnancy without really preparing myself for what is going to happen to our family when it’s all said and done.

At any rate, here are the stats.

Baby: Is the size of an apple, about 4 inches long and weighs about 2.5 ounces.  Can move its limbs and suck its thumb.  Crazy!

Momma:  Has officially abandoned non-maternity pants, craves peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and Qdoba burritos, constantly has a stuffy nose, and takes a nap every single day.

Daddy:  Also craves Qdoba burritos, and has taught both the dogs how to speak on command (much to Momma’s dissapointment).

Nursery:  Coming along nicely!  Steve’s wonderful sister generously bought us a crib, and we’ll be picking that up this weekend.  After that I’ll probably wait until we know the sex to do any further shopping.
